Team i360:

Kat Miller

34 year old Kat Miller started snowboarding 7 years ago at 27. She has been on a couple of skiing holidays with her family when she was younger and had not done anything for years when a friend suggested that she and her boyfriend go away with them on a Winter trip. At the time they couldn’t afford it but decided to take lessons at the local indoor slope so they could go the following year. Expecting to hate snowboarding, and only taking one lesson to keep her boyfriend happy she was convinced she would go back to skiing.

Once she got started she was instantly hooked and began taking regular trips indoors to practice on holiday. After a while riding down 130m of snow got a bit boring and Kat decided to try a rail out on the slope, “I survived in one piece and got hooked on freestyle” The buzz of trying new tricks and improving was brilliant and after a year of riding she decided to try competing. “I come from a competitive sport background (gymnastics and figure skating) and I think I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it”. Miller’s first comp was a slope-style competition and enjoyed it so much that she kept at it and is now riding in as many of the UK comps as she can and has entered the British Championships 4 times in the last 5 years.
